‘Blue Plate Special’ Le Creuset & Leigh Standley giveaway

We are thrilled to have our first giveaway on Amuse Bouche. As many of you know, Where Women Cook, is the sister magazine of Where Women Create.

Every Friday on their blog they have “Fabulous Friday”, where they feature an amazing artist and give away one of her creations. We would love to introduce some of our Where Women Create family to you all.

SO, we are going to be doing “Blue Plate Special” giveaways every Friday as well, but with a twist. Along with a beautiful piece of art, we will also be giving away a beautiful kitchen/cooking item as well!

And we are THRILLED with our first giveway.

Our kitchen item is a 6.5 quart Le Crueset “French Oven” porcelain coated, cast iron pan.

And we have this original canvas signed by Leigh Standley, talented artist behind curly girl design, that we are giving a way as well!

We are thrilled to have such a talented artist contributing to our giveaway this week. A portion of Leigh’s artist bio reads, “Leigh attended University of Kansas School of Design and holds a BFA in Visual Communications. Her work has been featured in national design publications and regional art shows and is inspired by her incredible friends and family.

Leigh has lived in Boston for six years and likes it so much she only occasionally wishes it were Paris.”

To enter, all you have to do is leave us a comment telling us what your favorite thing about the site!

For one additional entry you may tweet the following (with a link to the giveaway, but we’ll let you do that on your own), “Enter a $500 Le Creuset & Curly Girl Design giveaway on @wherewomencook! http://wherewomencook.com/?p=730″

Make sure you leave a comment with a link to your tweet so it can be counted!

This giveaway closes at 11:59 on Friday, December 17th. Winner will be selected at random and posted Saturday, December 18th!

Good luck!

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to our winner, Jennifer Rizzo!

My favorite part of this site (aside from the obvious fact that it’s about food and cooking-both of which I love!)is the design. I love the header. I love this little box thingy I’m typing in right now. It’s just got a great, vintage-y feel to it. I’m very impressed.

  189. Shannon

I love it all!! Can’t wait to see the magazine!

  196. Another luscious magazine from Jo Packham to study and salivate over. My favorite things: the tip section and all the gorgeous graphics and photography. Sigh. So lovely. The tip section on organizing your recipes reminded me of a practice my husband’s family started when the economy got tight a few years ago. He is from a family of eight siblings, with the accompanying wives and children. Instead of giving gifts, everyone sends their favorite or “go to” recipe from that year to everyone else. They usually send them in a plastic sleeve so we can keep them in a binder (or put them in the binder of family recipes his mother gave them each for Christmas in 1998. They are a very foodie family). It’s such a thrill seeing what everyone’s favorite recipes are and trying them out, I doubt we’ll go back to exchanging gifts!

  197. Sarah

    What I love: the recipes!

  198. Marcela from Sugar Land

    The recipes!
