Summer is almost here and the farmer’s markets are starting to pop up all over.  What is better than fresh fruits and veggies straight from the farm?  There is something so perfect about fresh, crisp, veggies and dip as a summer snack.  You don’t have to settle for packaged or processed dip for those fresh veggies.  You can make this homemade ranch dip recipe with ingredients you likely keep in the house.

Say goodbye to packaged dips and mixes. You can make delicious homemade ranch dip with ingredients already in your home.

Serves: 15-20

Ingredients
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp. dried parsley
  • ½ tsp. dried dill weed
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp. salt

Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients to medium sized mixing bowl. Stir until well blended and the dip is smooth and creamy. Can be used immediately but is best when chilled for 1-2 hours prior to use.
  2. Serve with fresh veggies, chips, or hot wings.

Notes
Can replace mayonnaise and sour cream with plain yogurt.

Chocolate Syrup

Where do you normally get your chocolate syrup from?  If you are like most people the answer is…the grocery store.  But what if you could make rich, decadent, and EASY chocolate syrup at home?  Then of course you would want to; right?  Try this easy homemade chocolate syrup recipe on your favorite ice cream, as a dip for fruit, or in a cold glass of chocolate milk.  I will have you ditching the store bought syrup for good.

Ingredients
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. vanilla

Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and whisk until mostly smooth.
  2. Cook over medium heat stirring frequently until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Turn heat up to medium-high and bring mixture to a low bowl. Stirring frequently to avoid boiling over. Boil for about 3 minutes or until mixture is smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
  5. Pour syrup into a glass storage jar (using a funnel helps avoid messy spills) and store in fridge. Will keep in fridge for 2-3 months.
