Megan Butters Rae grew up on the farm—MaryJanesFarm. She attended Gonzaga University and received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. After marrying her college sweetheart, they moved to Kansas and bought their first home on a cobblestone street.
Her love for writing, editing, eating, and well, her Mom, finally brought her back to the farm. Raising her 4-year-old and 2-year-old girls and working alongside her husband, mother, and siblings at the family farm is the perfect lifestyle mix for Megan.
She helps in the writing and editing of both MaryJanesFarm magazine and indulging in a bit of crafty projects here and there, some cooking, and whatever other interesting projects come her way.
Between work and her two girls, boredom doesn’t exist. In her spare time, she is the first to volunteer to host a party. She’s a believer in good food and good company. Along those lines, Megan also runs MaryJanesFarm unique wall tent Bed & Breakfast during the summer months. Her job entails everything from gathering fresh eggs and strawberries at dawn for the day’s breakfast to planning a couple’s 25th anniversary vow renewal—any job that requires an apron!
She rounds life out with travel across the country for work alongside her mother and to visit her five dearest college girlfriends who she loves with all her heart (they’ve all been in each other’s weddings and celebrated each other’s babies). Her two girls’ favorite pretend games are caring for their babies, cooking, and/or traveling. Influenced by their mother just possibly?

What a beautifully simple life. It’s so nice to read about someone living their dream so successfully.
Megan is such an inspiration! I love what she contributes to Mary Jane’s Farm magazine.
You go Meg!!!!
hugs!
