If you like pie as much as I do….this is the place for you.
It is located at this wee little airport {only small planes fly in and out} in a small town just down the freeway from my city. The town is called Chilliwack in British Columbia, Canada. People are known to fly there just for the pie {they have been located in the same spot for over 25 years}.
Folks will land their small planes and head straight to the airport’s diner for one of the 25 different kinds of pies that can be found there…hence the name “I fly for Pie.”
My husband was the first one in our family to “fly in” for pie. He immediately came home and started ranting and raving about this amazing piece of pie he had.
So, being the pie lover that I am…I made him drive me {not fly} to find out for myself.
Well he was right..with pies like…blackberry-apple….blueberry-peach…cran-ap-peach…raspberry-peach…flapper…sour lemon cream…rhubarb crunch…{the list goes on and on} you think it would be hard to choose.
Not me!
Mile high lemon meringue had my name written all over it!

Titled: I fly for Pie
Have a great weekend! Oh my oh my, I’m gonna eat some pie xxxxx
I have a friend who will literally fly somewhere for dinner…

Lemon * If life gives you lemons…please make lemon meringue pie!
Enjoy a lovely Sunday* Maria
Koralee you have dont it again! Made my heart go pitty pat with your sweet romantic tale, involving a veritable love triangle you, your hubby and your treasured pie. My husband favourite dessert is lemon meringue pie also and we too have a special place, a walled garden in Lancashire that we go to eat it. Not quite as romantic a flying to eat your pie! Sharon xx
This is so funny - I started reading this blog because a good friend of mine was featured (Tiffany Kirschner-Dixon) and then I just kept reading post after post which led me here. I live in Chilliwack and KNOW of this cafe and they DEFINITELY do have the best pies! They also have great breakfasts too! I will continue to read this blog as the recipes look great! Keep it up!

I was in Chilliwack for 3 days last year and the first thing my local friend did was take me to the airport for pie.
I refused to eat anything else for the next two days.
I love pie, and they serve not only the best tasting pie I’ve ever had but big servings and great looking.
If it was feasible to fly in from Australia just for the pie I would do it on a weekly basis.
