Where Women Cook is thrilled to announce our new partnership with Gooseberry Patch! Gooseberry Patch was started in the early 80′s when two friends discovered their mutual love of baking, thrifting and crafting. What started as a catalog has morphed into a successful business focused on homestyle cookbooks and calendars. The cookbooks are now being made into ebooks and they are producing a series of cooking videos!
We are so excited to be hosting the cooking videos here every Saturday. Along with a video, we will have a delectable recipe for you!
Our first video is all about Gooseberry Patch’s new Christmas Cookbook, Quick Easy Christmas.
Doesn’t that cookbook look wonderful? As a treat for you, we have the recipe for the Eggnogg Cake!
Eggnog Cake
Enjoy this recipe from Quick & Easy Christmas (M213).
18-1/4 oz. pkg. yellow cake mix with pudding
3 eggs, beaten
1/3 c. oil
1 t. nutmeg
1-1/3 c. eggnog
In a large bowl, blend together all ingredients until smooth. Pour into a Bundt® pan that has been sprayed with non-stick vegetable spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes, until a cake tester comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack 10 minutes. Transfer to a nice plate. Drizzle Eggnog Glaze over cake. Makes 12 servings.
Eggnog Glaze:
2 c. powdered sugar
2 T. margarine, softened
1 t. vanilla extract
3 to 4 T. eggnog
In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except eggnog. Add enough eggnog to reach a glaze consistency.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the Eggnog Cake!

OH, I just LOVE Gooseberry Patch. Those ladies are awesome. IF you’ve ever seen one of the videos where they have a booth at a fair, ladies come from all over with stacks of books to be autographed. They buy more cookbooks and it’s just a lot of super fun I’ve never been myself, but I have purchased three of their cookbooks Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather
Gooseberry Patch! I haven’t thought of them in years. When I was a young wife and mother and discovered them, I couldn’t wait for the kids to take their naps so I could pour a cup of tea and sit down with their little zine. I am so excited to know they are still around and active!
