Locale: Anywhere love is…

Jo’s favorite place in regards to food is simply wherever everyone she loves is.

“It can be the girls all together at McDonald’s in New York City, all of us gathered around Sara’s kitchen, a picnic in the woods…I don’t care. It only matters who is there and the memories that are made and shared.”

(And really…isn’t that what life is all about?)

Locale: ‘I Fly For Pie’ airport cafe-Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada

If you like pie as much as I do….this is the place for you.

It is located at this wee little airport {only small planes fly in and out} in a small town just down the freeway from my city. The town is called Chilliwack in British Columbia, Canada. People are known to fly there just for the pie {they have been located in the same spot for over 25 years}.

Folks will land their small planes and head straight to the airport’s diner for one of the 25 different kinds of pies that can be found there…hence the name “I fly for Pie.”
My husband was the first one in our family to “fly in” for pie. He immediately came home and started ranting and raving about this amazing piece of pie he had.

So, being the pie lover that I am…I made him drive me {not fly} to find out for myself.

Well he was right..with pies like…blackberry-apple….blueberry-peach…cran-ap-peach…raspberry-peach…flapper…sour lemon cream…rhubarb crunch…{the list goes on and on} you think it would be hard to choose.

Not me!

Mile high lemon meringue had my name written all over it!

Our Date Nights = I fly for Pie

Locale: The Pennsylvania General Store

Who doesn’t love an old-fashioned general store? One of life’s great pleasures is leisurely strolling trough aisles stuffed with beautifully packaged goods and glass cases full of delicious, homemade treats. One of Megan’s favorite places to explore where she lives is The Pennsylvania General Store is a retail and mail order company selling Pennsylvania-made foods and crafts located in the historic Reading Terminal Market.

Just a quick train ride from her house, the market was founded by her friends Michael & Julie Holahan in 1987. The store is an eclectic mix of products representing the best of locally made foods & crafts. Megan designed the packaging for the delicious Rosie’s Butterkins cookies and the Pennsylvania General Store cocoa, which she gave a personal touch of history to by using an adorable photograph of her grandmother when she was a little girl.

Besides the “Keystone Crunch” carmel-popcorn, her favorite PA General Store treat is a chocolate covered pretzel! In addition to the beautiful store, they also assemble wonderful gift-baskets that can be ordered online and shipped anywhere.

Locale: The Beachcomber at Crystal Cove

Newport Beach, California, is the stomping ground of Executive Consulting Editor of Where Women Create and Where Women Cook, Amanda Crabtree.

On days when Amanda is not at Stampington & Co. helping create our beautiful magazines, she can be found at The Beachcomber Cafe at Crystal Cove enjoying breakfast. It’s one of her favorite places and with “fresh omelettes, to-die-for French Toast, and the ocean to look at”, who can blame her?!

Locale: One of my favorite places to be in Utah

I love my job. I love that I get to help such a fabulous community of women get and grow online and to help get these beautiful magazines into people’s hands. I love my boss and co-worker, too.

I also love WHERE I work:

It’s in a historic building and it’s this…this…magical-holy-cow-every-inch-of-this-place-looks-like-some-amazing-design-and-crafting-antique-fairy-of-AWESOME-barfed-on-it-but-in-a-good-way place. (Seriously, could you die? I about did the first time I saw it!)

Days that I have to go into ‘the office’ (where lots of the magic of Where Women Create and Where Women Cook happens) just makes me HAPPY.
