Embellish Your Home: Twig and Parasol Bouquet

With Spring in the air and Summer fast approaching it is time to pack up the Winter centerpieces and create something bright and fresh for your table.  This twig and parasol bouquet tutorial from “Embellish Your Home” is the perfect decor for your next dinner party. 

Twig and Parasol Bouquet Tutorial

Materials-

  • Branches from your garden
  • Decorative-edge scissors
  • Heavy-duty craft scissors
  • Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
  • Pages from an old book or color copies of book pages
  • Paper parasols (found at crafts or party supply stores)
  • Thin-gauge wire, preferably green
  • Vase
  • Wire Cutters

Directions-

  1. Arrange branches in vase. Trim them down as necessary, but be sure they have a nice full appearance.
  2. Using the decorative-edge scissors, cut leaf shapes from book pages and set aside.
  3. Cut the wire into 1 1/2″ pieces. Open the parasols and attach them to the branches with wire.
  4. Hot-glue the paper leaves to the ends of the twigs.

Wouldn’t that make a perfect addition to your kitchen, dining, or buffet table?
