“Teri Arnold-Shannon, known as Teresita, of Alamos, Sonora, Mexico was born and raised in Seattle. Brought up by a single working mother who instilled in her family a strong work ethic and necessary frugality, one of Teri’s chores was to prepare dinner for her mom, sister, and brother. The menus were a little odd by other’s standards considering her mom was an Adele Davis follower and ‘health food nut.’ Family time was always very important and usually centered around food and food prep. Teri learned to cook working side-by-side with her grandmother and developed a love of food and cooking that has never diminished. After visiting Mexico for the first time at age 20, Teri was determined to find a way to live, love, and cook in Mexico.” (Quoted from Teri’s article in Where Women Create magazine.)
