Momma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

With the holidays approaching having a batch or two of cookies on hand is a great idea.  That is why we are sharing Melinda’s “Momma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies” recipe with you.  Straight from the pages of our Summer 2013 issue; this recipe will have you saying “there is something so perfect about a chocolate chip cookie.”

Momma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
There is nothing more perfect than a chocolate chip cookie
Recipe type: Dessert
  • ¾ cup butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips
  1. Using an electric mixer, cream butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla. Continue mixing, and add eggs one at a time. Beat until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add dry mixture slowly into wet mixture, and combine. Add chocolate chips and stir gently.
  3. Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Allow cookies to stand on cookie sheet for 1 minute, then remove to a clean surface to cool.
