Happy Sunday friends! Today we have a very special treat for you.
We want to introduce you to the brother sister team of Nate Padavick and Salli Swindell. In February 2010 they launched They Draw & Cook with 8 recipes illustrated by friends and family. There are now almost 1,900 recipes by close to 1,000 artists around the world.

Winter Warmer Soup by Sarah Ward from Sheffield, UK http://gingerbred.co.uk
Their goal was to turn food into art and art into food and their experiment quickly became an online sensation. Thousands of visitors frequent their blog monthly and can play with the interactive world map of over 1900 recipes, submit an original recipe of their own, or “Dial-A-Dinner” for different suggestions on what to cook.
This October, They Draw & Cook; 107 Recipes Illustrated By Artists Around the World was released.
They Draw & Cook is loosely organized into recipes suitable for breakfast followed by appetizers, main courses, desserts, and drinks. Make a meal a swanky or simple affair by flipping through this cookbook for inspiration, but expect company while you cook with every recipe’s pithy cast of characters combining two parts wit for every part instruction.
And as if that wasn’t enough, a calendar, complete with recipes and illustrations was also just released! The calendar is made of 12 ribbon-tied extra thick pages that are 17.5 x 7 inches. When the month is over you can cut out the recipe and keep it forever!
This is the perfect gift for the food and art lover on your list this holiday season.
We are so thrilled to be teaming with Salli and Nate; they are generously giving away a copy of They Draw & Cook, a calendar and two (TWO!!!) fine art full-size recipes of YOUR CHOICE printed on fine art archival paper!!

i adore what the folks at “they draw & cook” are doing!! i love everything i see in the book! their website is also very neat to navigate. being both a cook and an artist myself, i applaude and thank them for what they have created.
As someone who not only loves to cook and read cookbooks, but looks for the beauty in food, I was very excited to find out about this fun blog and cookbook. Food should be a multifaceted experience, enjoyed in the making, presenting and eating. Having a beautiful book to cook so adds to the enjoyment and this is a book I would love to have in my library.
I love the fact that it’s a global community. Beautiful design and delicious food - what can be bad?
I love the fact that drawings take you through a recipe rather than having to only read and follow the steps and I like simple recipes which don’t require exotic ingredients and I can find many of those too.

I love Nate and Salli’s concept of TheyDrawandCook..combining art and food brings two of my favorite things together and to see so many representations of delicious recipes on their site is awesome. I’m an admirer of both of their amazing talents (design, illustration, lettering), but what has simply been the greatest thing since they’ve started this is getting to know how sincerely fabulous people they are. Generous to a fault and FUN to boot. They rock!
I love the fun drawings, and the way they make beautiful presentations of great recipes.
What fabulous work they have put together, love the fun style.
I love how spontaneous, creative and friendly they are!!!
What Nate and Sallie have done with “They Draw & Cook” is such a fresh and innovative way to share their passion for food and art. I was instantly addicted ! A piece of art from the site now beautifully adorns my dinning room.
I LOVE ‘They Draw & Cook.” This prize would be so much fun… I just released my cookbook, and The Draw & Cook is so packed with fun inspiration.

I love the color and the fun of making cooking easier and more visually appealing while it’s all being put together. Very nice!
I love seeing how other people visualize a recipe and comparing it to how I might have done it!
I’m such a huge fan of TDAC! I submitted something last holiday season. I haven’t had a chance to submit something lately, but it’s always in the back of my mind!
What gorgeous art! I’m usually not a very careful recipe follower, but I can’t take my eyes off of these visually delicious directions!
I love how the recipes are visualized without using photographs.

I have enjoyed looking at every recipe at TDAC. Made only a couple, and perhaps read only a handful, but it is still so much fun! Maybe I will now be motivated enough to send in my entry which I had been thinking of doing for ever so long!
The variety of styles appeal to all my different interests, and my daughter’s, too. At 44 and 14, we can sit down to admire the fabulous artwork and then go cook up something delicious in the kitchen!
The artwork is incredible! What a fantastic idea. I’d love to win this. So creative, and so beautiful.

I always enjoy creativity, and combining passions such as cooking and drawing is inspiring and makes each recipe truly memorable! Keep up the good work.
I like the fact that they incorporate a fun, whimsical way into their introduction of recipes. I think even if the dish may be difficult I would want to try and make it just from the creative way it is featured.
