With the holidays approaching having a batch or two of cookies on hand is a great idea. That is why we are sharing Melinda’s “Momma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies” recipe with you. Straight from the pages of our Summer 2013 issue; this recipe will have you saying “there is something so perfect about a chocolate chip cookie.”
Momma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
There is nothing more perfect than a chocolate chip cookie

Ingredients
- ¾ cup butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2½ cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ½ tsp. salt
- 12 oz. chocolate chips
Instructions
- Using an electric mixer, cream butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla. Continue mixing, and add eggs one at a time. Beat until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add dry mixture slowly into wet mixture, and combine. Add chocolate chips and stir gently.
- Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
- Allow cookies to stand on cookie sheet for 1 minute, then remove to a clean surface to cool.
It’s always time for a cookie.
