“Southern is a birth right and a blessing.”
When structuring the publishing plan for Amuse Bouche, I knew two things. One, I wanted to feature the women in our magazine and bring readers additional insights and information not found in the pages of our magazine. And two, I really wanted to feature bloggers that are either primarily focused on food (or feature food heavily on their blogs) that are not currently slated to appear in Where Women Cook.
We love bringing you stories of women in food that are as diverse and passionate as the women themselves, and I look forward to sharing those that catch our eye on a weekly basis. We’re calling this segment “Sunday Brunch”.
Here’s the fun part…at the end of the quarter our Editor-in-Chief, Jo Packham, will select one of the women on Sunday Brunch to be in an upcoming edition of Where Women Cook.
First up is Rachel of A Southern Fairy Tale. She was the top of my list for a few reasons. I’ve known Rachel for years. (Isn’t she pretty?!)
She hails from my circle of personal/mom/family bloggers, and I have loved getting to know about her life with her husband and two little ones (especially these two posts about what it means to live where she does (Corpus Christi, Texas), and how something that might seem out of place, may be exactly the place it is meant to be).
I have ALSO loved reading her posts about food and the recipes she posts regularly.
Rachel was the very first blogger I’d ever read that blogged about food and posted recipes on her site, and I found myself eagerly waiting for her “Mouthwatering Mondays” to see which easy-to-make and deeeelicious thing she’d whip up. I have made many of Rachel’s recipes for my family and they are always well received. I want to put her homemade granola in a feed bag over my face so I can just munch on it all day long. My little 18-month-old LOVES her granola. It’s his favorite thing to eat.
Doesn’t it look amazing?

If the homemade granola doesn’t convince you, maybe the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Thighs or sinful German Chocolate Cake will. (Or you can just see if you agree or disagree that hers are indeed “The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Ever”.)

Thanks for being the first blog to introduce me to online recipes, and my first food blog feature pick, Rachel.
It’s been a delicious delight!
(Make sure you enter this week’s “Blue Plate Special” giveaway: $500 Le Creuset 6.5-quart French Oven and original canvas by Leigh Standley!)

I’m heading off to visit Rachel’s blog right away. Every recipe looks and sounds delicious.
I can’t wait to get a copy of Where Women Cook. Thanks for so much inspiration.
Blessings
