Hi, everyone!
It’s me, Loralee. You know, that person that usually writes an introduction in italics on this blog to introduce you to the fabulous women that are featured in the pages of our magazine and also talks to y’all on social media and whose face hangs out on the right hand sidebar staring you all like this?
Yes, that’s me.
Hi.
Even though I write about myself and my family on my personal blog all the time it’s a bit weird to be talking about myself today, but yes…I am actually in the current issue of Where Women Cook and I couldn’t be prouder of it.
I think the most important thing about me is that I am lucky enough to spend time with some of the best boys on the planet. (Nope, no girls. My husband is the only single chromosome male on the planet. I am the lone isle of estrogen in a sea of testosterone. Oh, well…I just get to be the princess in the equation!)

Even though this was just taken last year, my boys are so much bigger now. Especially my littlest. He has gotten so big! For example, I went into his room the other day and discovered he had gotten dressed all by himself for the first time. (AWESOME outfit, no?) He is my adorable little pat of butter.

Though it’s my favorite one by far, I wear a lot of different hats besides being a mom.
For one…I do a whole lot of singing in my life. I had a full vocal scholarship in college and I thought I would grow up to be an opera singer or a musical theater actress.

And…
I have been a blogger since 2005. It’s how I make my living and how I came to hold this job. (I’m just finishing up a 3-month break from blogging and being online with my personal brand (Loralee’s Looney Tunes and @looneytunes). So, if you click over to my blog, you’ll see a rather stoic photo of me with beadhead and the announcement that I’m taking a break. Three months offline on Looney Tunes after 6-years was very weird, but I am very glad I did it. I will be very happy to go back, though. I’ve promised myself I’d return before July.)
I love being a blogger and working online.
I also love working for Where Women Cook. (I also love my boss. Just sayin’.)
If you know me well, it might seem like an odd pairing, but if you know my history with food, it makes a bit more sense.
I looooove food.
I actually loved it too much since I topped out at almost 300 lbs once apon a time. (Yes, really.)
I’ve been cooking and (attempting) to bake since I was a little girl. I figured out pretty quickly that I MUCH better at cooking than baking and that few things leave me as satisfied as tinkering with a recipe and changing it with unusual twists. (Current achievement of awesome: Using Raisin Bran Crunch as the ‘croutons’ on a divine breakfast salad. Watch for it in September’s issues, peeps…it’s a yummy one!)

I’ve cooked here and there and every time we have a media appearance for the magazine I’m usually the one cooking in front of the camera. I don’t mind…it’s really fun, though a bit frantic and fast paced!
I love cooking. I love entertaining. I love making things beautiful and wearing adorable aprons. I love eating copious amounts of great food and being with people who enjoy the same thing.
Which means I love you!
Thanks for tuning in this week and every other week that you’ve been reading. We appreciate our community so much and adore you all! xo- Loralee

You and your family are beautiful! Glad to see you “resurfacing”!
